New Delhi: Electric mobility, digital payments and Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) are some of the topics that will be discussed in the meeting of the Power and Renewable Energy ministers of states here on Thursday.
“The aim of this conference is to review the implementation of various ongoing schemes or programmes and deliberate on a host of issues pertaining to Power and Renewable Energy sectors,” the power ministry said in a statement.
The meeting will be inaugurated by power and renewable energy minister R K Singh and witness participation from state energy secretaries and PSU officials too.
The meeting will include discussion on Completion of feeder separation under the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY), reducing Aggregate Technical and Commercial (AT&C) losses to 10 per cent, achieving electrification of 100 per cent households by December 2018 under the Saubhagya scheme and a review of distribution sector reforms under UDAY scheme.
The ministers will chalk out a strategy for ensuring round-the-clock power for all and discuss Feeder and Transformer Meters, Prepaid Smart Meters, Digital Payments, Anti-Theft Campaigns, Direct Benefit Transfers (DBT), Cross subsidy charges within limits of tariff Policy and Time of the day Tariff.
The official statement said the meeting will also include discussion on financing and viability issues surrounding hydro projects and a review of the progress of the Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC).
On the green energy sector, the ministers would take a stock of the implementation of targets under solar, wind, rooftop solar and solar pump schemes.
